School Cancellation, Delayed Opening, After School Programs,
and Early Release Days

It is occasionally necessary to cancel school, cancel school events, or delay opening because of snow or other emergencies. The class schedule on the day of return to school after a cancellation is the one that is scheduled for that day. If the school opening is delayed, buses will run one and a half hours after their regularly scheduled time, unless otherwise specified. All school cancellations and delayed openings will be communicated via Listserv, posted on our school website, and at www.ctweather.com.

Announcements will also be made over the following radio stations: WICC (600 AM); WEZN (99.9 FM); WLAD (800 AM); and television stations WTIC (Fox61); Cablevision Channel 12; WFSB-TV (Channel 3); WTNH-TV (Channel 8).

• During the 2009-2010 school year, there are days set aside for faculty professional development. On these days, academic classes will meet on an adjusted time schedule and lunch will be served only on late arrival days. These scheduled professional development days, which are subject to change, are as follows:
  • September 29, 2009 – Late Arrival
  • October 14, 2009 – Late Arrival for Grades 9 & 12;
    regular arrival for Grades 10 & 11
  • November 13, 2009 – Early Dismissal
  • March 19, 2010 – Early Dismissal
  • April 5, 2010 –Late Arrival
  • May 28, 2010 – Early Dismissal
